We recommend a tune-up twice a year — once in spring before cooling season, and once in fall before heating season. This keeps your system running efficiently, extends its overall lifespan, and catches small issues before they turn into expensive repairs. In South Carolina's climate, where AC runs nearly nonstop from May through September, consistent maintenance pays for itself in lower energy bills and fewer emergency calls.

Standard 1-inch filters should be replaced every 1–3 months. During South Carolina summers — when your system runs almost constantly — every 4–6 weeks is a good target. Thicker 4-inch media filters can go 6–12 months. A clogged filter restricts airflow, makes your system work harder, raises your energy bill, and can cause the system to freeze up or overheat. Changing your filter is the easiest and cheapest thing you can do to protect your HVAC investment.

A typical tune-up includes inspecting and cleaning both indoor and outdoor units, checking refrigerant levels, testing electrical connections and controls, lubricating moving parts, inspecting the heat exchanger (heating systems), verifying thermostat accuracy, and checking airflow and ductwork for obvious issues. We'll also let you know if we spot anything that needs attention. The goal is to catch small problems early and keep everything running at peak efficiency.

We offer free estimates for replacement and new installation projects. For service and diagnostic calls on existing systems, there may be a service fee — we'll let you know upfront when you call. If you proceed with a repair after the diagnostic, the service fee is typically applied toward the cost of the work.
